Lisa Jones is no secret to the photography world. In fact, Lisa is one of the best photographers not just in Alabama but nationwide. Recently, she was selected in the top 10 out of more than 2000 applicants to be in a new reality tv series called Behind the Shutter’s Creator Series. Behind the Shutter’s Creator Series is a 7-episode web series launching on August 29th, featuring some of the best up-and-coming photographers in the country. Everything from lighting, posing, and composition will be tested. The 10 contestants, ranging in age from 22 to 60, traveled from all across the US and represented a wide diversity of photographic styles and genres, with Lisa being one of only three females to compete.
Lisa is an award-winning, certified professional portrait and headshot photographer in Cullman. She recently received a Master’s accreditation from PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and Portrait Masters. She specializes in studio portraiture with a goal of recreating a love of printed portraits and wall art among my clients.
Jones said, “I was selected as one of ten contestants out of more than 2,000 applicants to participate in the Creator Series. The series, sponsored by Canon, is a reality series where photographers are faced with timed photographic challenges. Our work is judged at the end of each challenge, and someone is sent home. The last photographer standing wins over $20,000 in cash and prizes. This was one of the most nerve-wracking things I have ever done! The nerves were real. The challenges, which were all very doable under normal circumstances, became huge obstacles when you were given only ten minutes to complete them and had someone standing over you with a timer! This was an incredible opportunity for me and an awesome experience. The best part was getting to know other photographers who I would never have met under any other circumstances! I feel like I have a new group of friends and can’t wait to follow their journey.
