Keith Pattillo, a longtime educator and friend to many passed away last Tuesday at the age of seventy-five due to a sudden illness.

Mr. Pattillo loved many and was loved by many as he worked for the Cullman County School System for more than thirty years. After graduating from St. Bernard with his bachelor’s degree, he pursued his master’s degree at Alabama A&M. Once he graduated from the Huntsville university, he got a job at Baileyton Junior High, where he was both a teacher and a coach. After working in the Baileyton community for six years, he transferred to the central office and worked for four years. After working ten years in the education system, he became the principal at Fairview High School, where he served as a guiding leader for many for twenty-five years.

Students always said that he was a leader they needed – giving discipline and love when it was deserved.

After retiring from the education system, he picked up his old college job, working at Moss Funeral Home, where he worked until his untimely death.

When he wasn’t teaching or working at the funeral home, he traveled the United States with his beautiful wife. Together he traveled to all thirty MLB ballparks and forty of the fifty states.
