Kristi Leanna Cordes (38) of Bremen was arrested on seven Grand Jury Indictments Tuesday evening after a crash that happened in November of 2020. The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 69 near Bremen at mile-marker 221 at 10:26 P.M. Cordes was driving a 2010 Cadillac CTS that crossed the centerline and collided with a 2005 Honda Element that was driven by 22-year-old Tristan Stormy Black of Lynn, Alabama.

Black, along with Brookelynne Alexus Dowdy (20) of Double Springs, and Bailey Dewayne Bennett (20) of Haleyville, and Madelyn Grace Bennett an unborn child carried by Dowdy, were all pronounced dead at the scene. A minor in the vehicle with Black was transported to a regional hospital by helicopter.

The Grand Jury indicted Cordes on four counts of Homicide/Manslaughter, Aggravated Assault, Driving Under the Influence, and Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road after an investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division.
