The Auburn Tigers, led by new Head Coach Bryan Harsin hosted the Akron Zips Saturday evening. The Tigers showed great signs for the new season, which appears to be a much different Auburn team under Harsin.

Bo Nix had phenomenal numbers as the commander behind the Tigers Offense, throwing for 275 yards and completing 20/22 passes while accounting for three touchdowns. In addition, Nix rushed for 32 yards on three carries. Nix managed to spread the ball around the field, hitting eight different receivers. With the experience in the Offensive Line, Auburn is showing high hopes for the 2021 season.

Auburn Runningback Tank Bigsby was in pure ‘Beast Mode’ rushing the ball. Bigsby rushed the ball 13 times for 119 yards and two touchdowns while having a passing reception for 19 yards, followed by Jarquez Hunter with nine carries for 110 yards and one touchdown. Shedrick Jackson led the way in the passing game with five catches for 79 yards.

Auburn finished the game with 613 total Offensive yards and gave up zero turnovers. In addition, the Tigers racked up 316 yards on the ground and 297 yards through the air.

Defensively, the Tigers put on a stellar performance, only giving up 188 total yards. Akron was minus three rushing yards on the evening but managed to get 191 yards through the air.
