After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lifted all COVID-19 restrictions, Florida Gator Head Coach Dan Mullen is calling on the University’s administration to allow full capacity in the Gators matchup against LSU on Saturday.
“I know our governor passed that rule, so certainly, hopefully, the university administration decides to let us pack The Swamp for LSU next week,” said Mullen. “One hundred percent because that crowd was a major factor in the game. So I certainly hope our university administration follows the governor.”
He also noted, “We have 90,000 in The Swamp to give us that home-field advantage that Texas A&M had today.”
Florida AD Scott Stricklin stated later that, “We continue to follow UF Health and campus safety guidelines.”
It appears that Saturday’s game in Gainesville will remain a limited capacity crowd despite Mullen’s request, but much speculation has been raised regarding if the limits will be lifted in following games in Ben Hill Griffen Stadium.
