Cullman, Ala. — Cullman Regional welcomes board-eligible Psychiatrist Tyler Byrd, DO, to the Cullman Regional Medical Group.
A native of Oneonta, Alabama, he received his undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College and his medical
degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After medical school, he
completed his general psychiatry residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While in residency, Dr. Byrd has
volunteered his time completing mental health evaluations at the Cullman County Jail and has been working with Cullman
Regional to develop care protocols for Emergency department patients with acute mental health issues.
Dr. Byrd and his wife have one son and one dog. In their free time, they enjoy reading and trying new restaurants.
Dr. Byrd is excited to bring his expertise to the patients in the Cullman area. His office will be located in the new Cullman
Regional Turning Point Health Center, located on the Cullman Regional Campus, in Professional Office Building 1, Suite 360. Dr.
