Captain Becky Boyd has thirty years of service to the CPD and the citizens of Cullman! Captain Boyd began her career with the CPD as a patrol officer on April 30, 1990. She was promoted to Jail Warden in 1994 and remained in that position until she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on February 4, 1998. She served as the departmental training officer from 1996-2003. She also received her DARE instructor certification and taught the DARE curriculum in the Cullman city schools from 2003-2005. On May 7, 2003, she was promoted to the rank of Patrol Lieutenant and served in that role until 2011 when she was reassigned to the Narcotics Investigation Unit. She served as part of the Narcotics Unit until 2013. On December 16, 2015, she was promoted to Captain and served as Investigations Captain until May 2019 when she began serving in her current role as Services Captain. Captain Boyd is a graduate of Athens State University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science. We congratulate Captain Boyd on her 30 years of service and thank her for her continuing service to the CPD and the citizens of Cullman.

Officer Shannon Cheatwood has fifteen years of service to the CPD and the citizens of Cullman! Officer Cheatwood began his career as a patrol officer on April 17, 2005, after having worked as a part-time jailer and reserve officer since June 18, 2003. During his career, he has served as a tactical unit member, sniper team member, field training officer, motor patrol officer, FBI firearms and rifle instructor, Glock armorer, and FBI instructor. We congratulate Officer Cheatwood for his 15 years of service and thank him for his continuing service to the CPD and the citizens of Cullman!

SRO Don Slocumb has fifteen years of service to the CPD and the citizens of Cullman! Officer Slocumb began his career on April 20, 2005, until he retired from full-time service on May 30, 2017. He currently services as a Reserve Officer and as a School Resource Officer (SRO). Officer Slocumb is a former U.S. Marine who worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security prior to working for the CPD. During his career with the CPD, Officer Slocumb has served as a member of the tactical team, as a field training officer, as a Narcotics Agent with CNET, as an investigator, and as a motor unit officer. We congratulate SRO Slocumb for his 15 years of service and thank him for his continuing service to the CPD and the citizens (and students) of the City of Cullman.
