In 2012, Shannon Beaty heard a voice telling her to do something more. She had a dream of owning a boutique but never imagined it being something that would later grow into a Cullman favorite. One year later in 2013, Shannon started doing what she felt as a calling from God by having a small corner in her husbands pharmacy, which soon turned into having her own store front, as LAVISH was born in Jasper, Alabama. Five years later, through lots of prayer, Shannon decide to bring Lavish to the Downtown Warehouse District in Cullman, AL.
Beaty’s mission is to spread the love of Christ through her boutique. So when Lavish opened in Cullman, Shannon placed a Prayer Wall in the store. The purpose is to allow customers to lay their burdens and worries down on a card and know the employees will be praying over every single one of them. “My story, our story, is not yet finished. I cling to the hope and the promise that the best is yet to come. I believe that this is just the beginning, said Shannon Beaty.
We believe that there is no prayer request too small or large in the eyes of God. Everyone from small children to adults have written requests. There are prayer requests from healing a horse with a broken leg to curing sickness and addiction – and all are accepted at Lavish and prayed over. God may simply lay it on your heart to go by and pick up a card to pray for someone and that is always welcome at this store where God certainly resides within it’s walls.
When asked about the wall, Beaty remarked “The Lavish prayer wall exists to allow our customers to leave their burdens, worries, and problems. Knowing the [customers] have a group of ladies praying over these requests standing in faith believing God will answer their prayers according to His will. It is not only a place to leave a prayer, but if one feel’s lead to do so, you can take a prayer to pray for someone else!
Lavish is more than a boutique selling beautiful clothing. It’s a place that is built on the foundation of God! He has given us a platform to share His love, grace, and mercy. We are connecting with women by building relationships that have us standing in the middle of the store sharing victories, life stories, but also praying with our customers when they need it!”
See what great love that the Father has LAVISHed on us, that we should be called the children of God as was said in 1 John 3:1
If you are in the market for new clothing, love to shop, or would just like to pop in and write down your prayer request, go by and visit Lavish in Cullman.
