Chairman Kenneth Walker announces Cullman County Courthouse will close to the public starting Wednesday, March 18th through April 6th. Employees will still be working their regular routine hours. If you have any questions you can call the particular department and they will be glad to assist you.

Revenue Commissioner Barry Willingham stated online vehicle tag renewal fees will be waived during this time.

Commissioner Marchman questioned rather or not the Courthouse can be shut down without an official meeting by the Cullman County Commission. It was determined, during a State of Emergency, the Chairman can make these types of decisions in the best interest of the citizens.

After a brief moment, Chairman Walker made a decision to satisfy the whole commission, to hold an emergency meeting. Commissioner Watson made a motion to approve the Cullman County Courthouse to be closed. Chairman Walker second the motion. Commissioner Marchman stayed silent.

Chairman Walker said, “The well-being of the citizens of Cullman County is my number one priority. It is my duty as Chairman to protect the citizens and make decisions in the best interest of Cullman County Citizens.”
