Melina Wray-Pylant was simply buying a few groceries at Publix in Cullman when she witnessed a gentleman show a wonderful act of kindness.
The world is in a panic and worrying is a natural habit during tough times. The Bible says “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. Proverbs 12:25” For a moment, Melina’s worries were removed by simply witnessing a gentleman show the love of God.
“Y’all this guy, that I do not know just blessed my heart! Publix is a madhouse and they are out of a lot of stuff. I went in for supper stuff and lunches for the kids. I was standing in the longest checkout line I’ve ever been in at the Cullman location. These two ladies were in front of me. One holding a custom cake of some kind and talking on her phone. The other just had like 3 items in her hand. This dude had a mounded up cart. You could tell he has a big family or he was stocking up for others. He looks at the lady behind him and says, here I’ll get it. Y’all don’t wait on me. She starts reaching in her purse to pay him and he says you don’t owe me anything. I’m good. 🙀🙊😭 She of course protests and is trying to give him money. He refuses, hands her the cake back after the cashier rings it up and says I’m good. She leaves and the lady behind her is standing there. He says, there’s no reason for you to have to wait on me. I’ve got so much here I’ll get this. The girl refuses then tries to pay him. Same thing. He takes her stuff puts it in front of his stuff just like he did the other lady’s cake and gets it bagged, hands it back to her and says you don’t owe me a thing and says if I heard right “you have a blessed day”. 🥺🥺🥺😭 Y’all I wanted to bawl right there. This situation, not the complaining about stores being out of so much, not the griping about having to fight the crowds or how crazy everybody is acting, this right here is what we should be doing. Caring for others. Making other people’s day better. You never know what other people are going through. I’m not crying! You are! God bless you sir! Spread kindness y’all! ❤️”
