A two-vehicle crash occurred earlier Tuesday evening in front of Wallace State Community College shutting down all lanes of traffic. Hanceville Police Department requested assistance from Cullman Police Departments Traffic Homicide Investigators Joey Duncan and Jonathan England.

A Honda Civic traveling southbound on US Highway 31 (driven by Tallon Powell of Boaz, AL) was attempting to turn left into a private parking lot located next to the Huddle House. A Nissan Titan (driven by Sharon Woodruff of Cullman) was traveling northbound on US Highway 31 when Mr. Powell’s vehicle collided with Mrs. Woodruffs Titan causing major damage.

One patient was transported to Cullman Regional Medical Center while the other was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital. Drivers from both vehicles were seriously injured.

“This crash is under investigation and charges could follow,” said Sergeant Joey Duncan with the Cullman Police Departments Traffic Homicide Unit.
