On Friday, Aug. 30, Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Driver License Division arrested Charles Steven Smith Jr., 42, of Cullman and charged him with felony forgery and felony identity theft. Smith was transported to the Cullman County Detention Center and has since made bail.
Mr. Smith was in the news back in April and May of this year. Smith was reported missing on April 19th. On April 22nd his truck was found near New Orleans with bullet holes. After countless hours from the Cullman Police Department, New Orleans Police Department, dive teams, and cadaver dogs, Mr. Smith was found alive and well in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 16th.
