Morgan County, Ala – This morning around 3:30 AM three adults entered a cave in the Newsome Sinks area of Brindley Mountain. Around 6:00 AM two of the cavers came out of the cave while one adult male wanted to stay in the cave and explore some more. This cave is two to three miles long and has both upper and lower areas to cave in.

Around 10:00 AM when the lone male caver did not come out of the cave, First Responders were requested to go search the cave. Two teams began a search of the cave. One team went to search the upper level and one team started searching the lower level.

Around 1:00 PM the male was located stuck between two boulders. The search crews were able to extricate the man and he was able to come out of the cave on his own power.
